A new set of panel artwork went into hangmango this session, and the UI got rebuilt around it to match a manga/comic style.
- The artwork expanded significantly — 9 gameplay panels (panel-0 through panel-8) instead of the previous 7, plus 3 win panels and 3 lose panels that rotate randomly each game. The win and lose panels varying per game was an easy way to give some variety to the end screen without any extra code complexity.
- Moving to 9 gameplay states meant the lives count went up from 6 to 8 to match. More panels, more guesses.
- On mobile, panel images were occasionally showing as blank when wrong guesses came in quickly — the browser hadn't finished downloading the next PNG by the time it was needed. The fix was preloading all 15 images on page load so they're in the cache before any guessing starts.
